Doctorate Programs

When people think of Doctors, they think of medical practitioners, in many countries medical doctors have a combined Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine, but they are not Doctor of Philosophy graduates or in fact graduates of any academic Doctorate.

Few are aware that a range of Professional Doctorates are available in many fields. Under the US system, what other countries issue is a combined Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine, US Universities issue a Doctor of Medicine. New US Law schools issue a Doctor of Jurisprudence rather than a Bachelor of Law. These are for professional doctorate programs.

There are a number of new available professional doctorates including Doctor of Education, Doctor of Business Administration and Doctor of Engineering.
